In high school and college I was an athlete and especially enjoyed running. But then, after graduating from Texas A&M with an engineering degree, I found myself “too busy” to run. I allowed life to get in the way of really taking care of myself and from having fun. After a 20 year break from running, I found myself horribly out of shape and I weighed over 250 lbs. In 2005 I decided to do something about it and started training for a triathlon. When I first began training I could only swim one length of the pool before stopping, resting, and gasping for air. Now over 12 years later I am fortunate to have completed two 140.6 Ironman races, seven 70.3 races, 6 marathons (Including 1 trail marathon where a black bear was spotted), as well as multiple triathlon age group podium finishes. There were many people who helped me along the way, which is one key reason I have decided to get my USAT Level 1 Coaching Certification and pay it forward.
As your coach, I will work with you to optimize your training plan around your personal schedule and life. Every athlete is different; the key is to work together to find what works for you. Whether you want to complete your 1st Triathlon, qualify for Kona, or anything in between, I believe that consistent focused training will lead you to your goals. You will discover that I am a detail oriented person, so you can let me worry about the details of optimizing your training schedule. You will be able to concentrate on your life, your training, and your goals.

"If you set a goal for yourself and are able to achieve it, you have won your race. Your goal can be to come in first, to improve your performance, or just finish the race it's up to you."
