Triathlon is a complex sport that involves strength of body and mind. Coach Elizabeth James promotes developing the whole athlete. Elizabeth strengthens athletes by challenging them physically and turning the mind from a potential enemy into an asset and ally. She encourages, she empathizes, she understands. She guides, she pushes, she challenges. She makes her athletes better, not only for a particular race, but also for a healthy life for years to come! Both beginner triathletes and experienced racers will benefit from her coaching philosophy.
Coach Elizabeth James has always had a passion for helping others find success. This is why she originally pursued a degree in education. She embraced the opportunities to inspire, motivate, and encourage the students in her classroom. Today, the same pursuit of personal success for others remains in her coaching business.
Athletics has always been a large part of Elizabeth’s life. Prior to finding the sport of triathlon, she had always been active in sports. She played soccer through the collegiate level, trained for marathons with her husband, taught group exercise classes, and led a weight-loss group. Even before becoming certified as a coach, she enjoyed writing training plans and pouring over the latest athletic research. In July 2012, she participated in her first sprint-distance triathlon and was immediately hooked! She has since competed at each offered triathlon distance and become a student of the sport.
Today, Elizabeth's coaching business is a partnership with TriDot Triathlon Training. As a TriDot athlete herself, she has found the TriDot Training System to be highly effective and was eager to share her knowledge and experience with others. Obtaining her USAT Level 1 Certification was the perfect combination of fitness and education, of her talents and interests. She has found the opportunity to coach empowering, energizing, and refocusing.

It is her goal as your coach to help you reveal your personal greatness—whether that be to reach the finish line of your first race, take your experience to a competitive level, or uncover a new distance or personal best. Her coaching approach is very individualized to meet the specific needs of each athlete.
As a TriDot athlete before a TriDot coach, she had the opportunity to experience first-hand the benefits of the TriDot Triathlon Training System. Now as a coach, TriDot gives her the scientific insight necessary to provide top-notch coaching. TriDot allows for on ongoing exchange of information between coach and athlete that allows her to use a data-driven and scientific approach to best serve each athlete as they balance the pursuit of their goals with family and/or work responsibilities.
