Triple Threat Tough is an endurance sports coaching company and club focusing on the beginner and intermediate athlete. All programs are designed to help an individual discover the pleasures and benefits that endurance sports can offer. Whether doing triathlons or just swimming, cycling, running, and/or strength training, TTT can accommodate all fitness enthusiasts.
The original Dallas, TX company of Texas Triple Threat was established in 2004. Kristen Codish worked hard for the past decade as a full time business owner and triathlon coach to create a welcoming environment for new people to try endurance sports. TTT was based from Kristen's original introduction to endurance sports through the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training. Texas Triple Threat was formed to accommodate people looking for personalized coaching and more in-depth training for triathlons.
The original Dallas/Fort Worth based company expanded in 2010 to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. Along with this expansion, the name was changed to Triple Threat Tough. In 2013, this market was split off to form NorthStar Triathlon and Fitness ran by long time member and former TTT coach, Lea Kirdatt. The changes continued in 2013 in the North Dallas market to include a Run Team, Masters Swim Team, and Cycle Team. 2015 will spark the expansion into the Denton, TX market with the addition of a new coach and group workouts for that area. The Dallas triathlon team and Denton triathlon team will work together as one club. Both locales will continue to offer individual coaching, group training programs, endurance training camps, fitness testing, and one of the larger multisport training teams in the North Dallas, TX area.
The one common denominator for all Triple Threat Tough athletes is that they have a desire to enhance their overall fitness levels and their endurance sport skills in a challenging, but social and unintimidating environment. By focusing on the beginner and intermediate athlete, Triple Threat attracts a vast array of people. Pure swimmers, cyclists, runners, new general fitness enthusiasts, and your local couch potatoes wanting to change their lifestyle or check an endurance event off their bucket list, all attend group workouts and/or get individualized coaching. The target market is anyone between the ages of 17-80 who is interested in reaching personal fitness goals with the guidance of a professional coach.
Programs run 351 days a year and team members will run in over 40 endurance events throughout the sports season. Locations centered around the Plano, TX and Denton, TX areas are utilized for our clinics, camps, team events, and group workouts to accommodate the majority of the club athletes. Triple Threat Tough's team goal is to make new members happier and healthier as they embrace the endurance sports lifestyle all while still challenging the veteran members to obtain higher goals.
Triple Threat differs from other endurance sports coaching companies and clubs in several ways. One that has remained most important since day one is that all group workouts are coached. All of our coaches are certified by nationally accredited institutions or governing bodies (USA Triathlon, USA Track and Field, USA Swimming, USA Cycling, Road Runners of America, American Swim Coaches Association, and others). No one is ever left behind or feeling like he/she was intimidated or did not get personal attention. There is always a beginner lane at swim practices, one of the coaches always brings the last rider in, and staff will always run/walk with the new people at runs. Another difference is that even though TTT offers an impressive number of group workouts, the membership fee stays low. Triple Threat covers all facility costs for every group workout, clinic, camp, or social event.
One of the top priorities is to make everyone feel comfortable in what is an extremely intimidating scene for some people. The team's mission is not only about creating a social atmosphere for people to train in, but also about giving back to the endurance sports community, local training areas, and supporting companies. Triple Threat started with only 16 members and has continued to grow over the years to over 180 members. No matter how big the team gets, or how much of the North Dallas area it covers, the ultimate goal continues to be to make the endurance sports lifestyle possible for just one more person.
